Match 34: Mumbai Indians Vs Delhi Capitals Post Analysis
A Sweet revenge from Mumbai at Kotla, Worst act from Krunal
We are in the second half league matches of this season. On 18th thursday one more time Mumbai Indian have met Delhi Capitals at Delhi Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium. They already lost against Delhi at their first match of this season. Even Audience remember young Rishab Pant reached his half century in just 18 balls. Its usual thing for Mumbai losing first match of season. Now they bounce back with more stronger and were at third position in the table just behind Delhi capitals because of runrate. Definitely this will be a match for moving into second position in the table.
At Kotla Mumbai Indians batted first with Quinton Decock and Rohit Sharma. Once again Rohit and Decock give a good start for Mumbai Indians. Both gone out at 30 and 35 runs respectively. Surprisingly Ben Cutting came to bat at no3 and that plan doesnt worked out. He gone for just 2 runs. MI coach Mahela Jayawardane explained this that they having three hitting allrounders at middle, if we send anyone just ahead he might score some quickie and increase the momentum of runrate. He accept that their plan didnt work. Then Surya kumar saves MI at middle by scoring 26 runs. Ofcourse Delhi's Spin attack worked well with Amit Mishra and Axar Patel. Once if Mumbai scored 140plus runs that is enough but Hardik Pandya and Krunal Changed it completely. They used Morris well and scored as much as they can. Finally Mumbai ends up with 168 runs. Hardik gone for 32 runs from 15 balls and Krunal remains not out with 37 runs from 26 balls.
Delhi Capitals started to chase the target of 169 runs with Shikar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw. Gabbar was in good touch he just raising the run rate. But Rohit didnt commit any mistake he used spinners like Jayant Yadav, Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya well. Because of this Dhawan gone for 35 runs as a first wicket with unnecessary shot. Actually there is less bounce inside the pitch and the ball coming in stump line still dhawan tried reverse sweep and lost his stumps. In next over of Rahul Chahar one more mistake made by Prithvi Shaw. From the first ball of the over itself he tries to attack him. Then at third ball he played unwanted shot at long on and caught by Hardik Pandya. Colin Munro came at no3 for bat. Worst decision ever made by DC team. Munro is a hitter and face difficulty in playing spinners. They sent him while Rohit spinners. Expected thing happened Munro came at 3 gone for 3 runs by Krunal. Skipper Shreyas bowled from a beautiful turn by Rahul Chahar. Chahar did the same magic what Mayank Markande did last year for Mumbai. Then Jasprit Bumrah bowled Pant and completed the task given by his skipper. Axar Patel and Morris tried to chase the score for few overs but Bumrah and Malinga cleared them.
Delhi Capitals lost all of their wickets for 128 runs and Mumbai won the match by 40 runs. Successfully Mumbai took a revenge against Delhi for the previous match lost at their home. Bumrah took 2 wickets for 18 runs and Rahul Chahar took 3 wickets for 19 runs.
A special mention we have to do here, Krunal Pandya failed to keep his sportsmanship. When he bowled 5th ball of 10th over, Pant and Shreyas were on the pitch. Pant flicked the ball and run for single. Then Krunal trying to collect the ball from non striker end. Before collecting the ball he just do a fake run out and diverting batsman. Like without ball in empty hands he do action of runout. Definitely this a big offense as per cricket rules. Umpire can give warning to him. But he didnt saw. Even cameras also only once showed. If any other team players did like this they will replay again and again and make it viral for the next day. Why not for Krunal Pandya??? Is there anyone behind that. Shame on Krunal for doing this kind of shit activity.
