Match 53: DC Vs RR Post Analysis

Another team eliminated from IPL 2019

It was a do or die match for Rajasthan Royals at Kotla. RR faced Delhi Capitals at their home in a must win game. Unfortunately the match completely went one sided and the hosts won by 5 wickets. With this win Delhi moved to second to the table position. But Royals playoff dream came to an end. Both teams played 14 matches, RR took only 11 points which is not sufficient to qualify next round. While Capitals finished the league round with 18 points which is equal to CSK but they are in second by having net run rate of +0.044 which is much lesser than Super Kings. Two teams got benefited because of royals loss, Now SRH and KKR are the only teams in the race of 4th team in playoff.

Earlier Rajasthan bat first with Rahane and Livingston. But nothing happened good for them. Almost they lost all the wickets in equal interval of time. DC bowler Ishanth Sharma carry the DC bowling unit and collapsed Royals top order. He took 3 wickets at the end of his 4 overs. If he collapsed top order at powerplay, Amit Mishra take care of the Royals middle order. He also took 3 wickets. Once RR were 65 for 7 wickets in 13 overs. At that time its difficult for them to cross 100 runs. But Assam young player Riyan Parag played a wonderful knock for them and scored half century in this match. Because of him only Royals crossed hundred and set a target of 116 runs.

Delhi Capitals have no issues in chasing the small target. Dhawan and Prithvi gave start for them. They played a bit fast to increase their run rate. But lost Shaw, Dhawan and Iyer with in 60 runs. Rishab Pant played a wining knock for Delhi along with Colin Ingram and Rutherford. Even DC also struggled a lot against RR spinners Ish Sodhi and Shreyas Gopal. But Rishab Pant clinch one more victory for DC and completed his fifty too by the winning shot. Rajasthan Royals were lagged in both and bat without their abroad players like Smith, Stokes, Archer and Butler. Anyway not a good game for Royals, they packed up everything and going to correct their mistakes for competing in next season. Thank you Royals for showing us a tremendous season with Stokes stunning catch and a century from Samson & Rahane.
