In the last day of the IPL 2019 league stage two matches happen one between Super Kings against Punjab at mohali and another between Knight Riders against Mumbai at Wankhede. In this first match is just became a formal now. Because CSK already entered playoff while punjab its very difficult to enter eventhough if they win this match. Because their runrate is too worst. In that situation at Mohali Super Kings bat first along with their openers Watson and Faf Du Plesis. One more failure for watson in powerplay. This time its from Sam Curran. Then Faf put hands together with Suresh Raina. Both played a beautiful game. Because of them score increased well along with runrate. Faf scored half century without any issues. On the other side Raina scored his 3rd fifty in this season. Overall it is 38th half century for him. Now he moved to second position in most IPL fifties next to Warner (44) and moved Dhawan(37) to No 3.
At this point CSK were 150 runs from 16 overs. Still 4 overs left in addition to that Dhoni will come at no 4. But Sam Curran made one more twist in his second spell. Removed both Raina and Faf. Raina gone for 53 runs from 38 balls with 5 boundaries and 2 sixes. Faf Du plesis missed his debut IPL century by a short of 4 runs. He scored 96 runs from 55 balls with 10 boundaries and 4 sixes. After than CSk batting collapsed and in the next 20 balls they scored only 20 runs. Shami bowled a good death over. At middle R Ashwin controlled his ex team score. Dhoni remains not out with 10 runs from 12 balls.
Kings XI started to chase the target with Gayle and KL Rahul. Both played a brilliant start for Kings XI. Particularly Rahul played one more winning knock for Punjab. They smashed CSK key spinner Bhajji to core. In first two overs Harbhajan gives 45 runs. Finally he finished with 57 for 2. Because of these openers KXIP crossed 100 runs without loss. Bhajji strikes well in his second spell removed Gayle, Rahul and Mayank. Gayle scored 28 runs from 28 balls while rahul made another half century 71 runs from 36 balls with 7 fours and 5 sixes. Nicholas Pooran helped Kings XI again with a beautiful knock. He scored 36 runs from 22 balls. This is more than enough for Kings XI to win this match. Mandeep and Curran finish it in 18th over itslef. From CSK side they gave 14 extras in this innings.
Anyhow with this win KXIP finished this season at 6th position in the table with 12 points. Nothing happened because of this win. But RCB finished with bottom of table once again. Rajasthan Royals finished at 7th position. Good bye Kings XI will see in the next season.
