ICC World Cup 2019

Match 37 - New Zealand Vs Australia

Do you know how many five wicket haul for Starc in world cup?????????
Kiwis will never forget the 2015 world cup final against their brother Australia. They lost that one match and lost cup too. After four year now they met Australia at world cup with the same form. Both teams played this world cup with equal power, were we have to admit Australians have strong opening pair than Kiwis. Kiwi had strong 3rd and 4th batsman than Aussie. But both having strong bowling lineup. Whenever they meet each other that match ending up with low scoring game. Even it continued in this match too. Since Australia already qualified for semi finals they need win only to keep them at top spot. But New Zealand need atleast one win to confirm their semi final berth. They were already with 11 points with good runrate, still both remaining matches against Australia and England, one worst loss against those team will reduce their runrate and will create unwanted pressure at the end.

Aaron Finch decided to bat first in this pitch after winning toss. Both dangerous Australian openers were taken by Kiwi  bowlers in the multiples of 8. Finch gone for 8 runs and Warner for 16 runs. Australia continuously lost wickets too Black cap bowlers like Smith, Stoinis and Maxwell. Yellow giants looking pathetic by losing 5 wickets for 92 runs at 22 overs. Usman Khawajah and Alex Carey saved australia from big collapse for 6th wicket. Both scored half century. Williamson dont know how to broke their partnership. Finally he himself bowled and send Alex Carey to pavilion for 71 runs from 72 balls with 11 boundaries. As like aussie openers Khawajah also loved number 8 it seems, he lost his wicket for 88 runs which is also a multiple of 8 with double 8 in his score. Australia finished 50 overs with 243/9. Trent boult bowled beautifully at last over, in 3rd ball he bowled Khawajah, 4th ball bowled Starc and 5th ball took Behendorff, last ball with dot. Boult took the second hat trick in the tournament, next to Shami. Boult became the first new zealand bowler to take hat-trick in world cups. Ferguson and Neesham took 2 wickets each and played a significant role in the collapse of Australian top batsmen.

In last world cup New Zealand opening pair was a big threat to other teams. But in the ongoing tournament their opening pair is not enough to make a puch without Bazz. Guptil failing to show his class and Munro not all in form. Thats why Williamson sent Nicholas to open with Guptil. But Jason Behendorff spoiled that plan also by sending Nicholas for 8 runs and Guptil for 20 runs. Its Australia right, winning is not so easy as like we thought. So Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor played very carefully against the yellow army. They gradually increased the team score by punishing worst balls and left good balls to keeper. Mitchel Starc took the dangerous Kane for 40 runs. Pat Cummins gave another breakthrough for Aussie by taking Taylor for 30 runs. Steve Smith sent Grandhomme for pavilion before starting his count. After 30th over Mitchell completely dominated the pitch. He sent all tailenders to pavilion and put an end to New Zealand chase with only 157 runs. Starc took 5 wickets for 26 runs with 2.68 as net runrate.

Man of the Match: Alex Carey (for his fearless 71 runs from 72 balls with 11 boundaries)

Leading wicket takers of last world cup both Starc and Boult conquered the pitch yesterday. Boutl hat-trick gone in vein were Starc 5 wicket haul secured Aussie. Its 3rd fiver for Starc in world cup and 6th in ODI. Before this tournament Starc faced lot of injuries, but he back to his form in right time with good pace. His average speed in this tournament is around 148kmph which is not even the fastest for many bowlers in  perfect length and line.

Tomorrow a big match between top two ODI sides India vs England at Birmingham. Its like a do or die match for England. First time in world cup history we are going to see Bangladesh and Pakistan fans going to support India.
