Nowadays world has moving fast towards alternative energy vehicles because of the hike in petrol, diesel price and the abundant of fossil fuels. Many innovative ideas are born inside human brain like solar vehicle, Electric vehicle and the list goes on. Among those ideas Electric vehicles are at the top in future vehicles list. Many car manufactures launched their vehicle in most of the country. Even people prefer these EV's more than petrol and diesel vehicles. Since few drawbacks are there like availability of charging station, battery range and expensive batteries, its very challenging for car manufactures to launch e-vehicles in many countries and India top's the chart.
Since India is a huge market in worlds automotive sector, its very difficult for car manufacturers to move on. Because Indian automotive market is completely based on price. Its very competitive to reduce the price of Electric vehicle. So automotive biggie's trying to do reduce the price as much as possible. Eventhough few electric cars are already launched in India like MG ZS, Tata Nexon eV, Hyundai Kona . Top car companies are focusing on converting popular budget cars to Electric. Lets see the popular budget cars going to relaunch in Indian market with new Electric soul.
1. Mahindra eXUV 300
Mahindra has launched its eXUV300 model in Auto EXPO held at New Delhi this February 2020. The concept model they showed looks like completed and ready for production. Sources said Mahindra may launch this electric model by 2021 since they already harvested success in electric segment with mini car Revo. Mahindra going to provide 40kwh battery and 130 HP motor with range of 300 plus kilometers once charged completely.
2. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Electric
Maruti Suzuki, the monopoly in Indian Automotive Industry also going to step in budget electric car segment with their famous tall boy model Wagon R. Expected to launch in earlier of 2021. Battery finalization and budget is under process became the reason for delay. One thing is sure, this car going to have fast charging option. It gets charged fully in just 1 hour. A separate fan base is there for this economical hatchback car. If they launched Wagon R electric in less budget and lot of features, this car will be a benchmark in e-car sale.
3. Renault e-Kwid
Renault, the only brand which shakes Maruti's market in entry level hatchback segment with the model KWID. The impact of this tiny still continues in the form of Triber. So the French car makers decided to launch their first e-car in India with KWID. Since they are already well experienced in electric cars throughout the world. We can trust they will fix competitive price for e-KWID not more than 10 lakhs. 26.8 kwh Lithium Ion battery and 44 PS electric motor will give the range of 270 plus kilometers. Till date there is no official confirmation of launch from Reno. Hope will release before the end of 2021.
4. Tata Altroz Electric
Nexon EV, no one expected this brave move from Tata. The success of Nexon gave too much confidence to Tata for launching its electric version. The response received for Nexon EV boosted them again and results in the launch of another recent model Altroz in e-form. The stylish premium hatchback going to enter in electric car market with 30 kwh battery and range of 300 kilometers. Tata going to provide DC fast charger along with this car which fills 80 percent within 1hour.
5. Nissan Leaf (eV)
Few months back Nissan stopped production and sale of their first hatchback in India Micra and spacious sedan Sunny. That time itself sources came like the Japanese car makers going to concentrate on electric cars in entry level segments. Now the talks came true in the form of Leaf, Nissan famous electric model. Leaf is good enough for Nissan in Indian market but they should be cautious in budget as well as the service and spares. It is one of the fastest car which can reach 100 kmph in just 7.9 sec. The 40 kwh e-powertrain can produce torque of 320 Nm. Range up to 250 kilometers with full charge.
Indian people are eagerly waiting to switch Electric mode. Now its in the hands of government to provide charging stations and other necessary services for Electric cars.
