Match 9 - New Zealand Vs Bangladesh
"Taylor" stiched the torn NewZealand
Ninth match of the tournament between Bangladesh and New Zealand. Both teams have already won in their first game. New Zealand beat Sri lanka, on the other side Bangladesh beat the strong South Africa. So both team expecting their second win in this season. Any of the one should face their first lose. For New Zealand they revealed their bowling power and a little in batting. Because both Guptil and Munro itself chased in that match. So others didnt get opportunity. But on Bangladesh side, they showed both their bowling and batting power. They scored 330runs while batting first and restricted South Africa to 309 runs form an edge of loss. Definitely this will be a big battle for both the teams.
After toss Bangladesh bat first with Tamim and Sarkar. Bangladesh cant able to score big in powerplay itself. But scored a decent of 45 runs for 1st wicket. Sarkar gone for 25 runs, within next 4 overs tamim gone for 24 runs. Then last match wizard, Shakib joined with Mushfiqur Rahim. Both started to play like last match with their experience. But Rahim went for 19 runs by a throw from Guptil. Shakib scored his second half century in ICC WC 2019 and went for 64 runs with 7 boundaries. This season Bangladesh performing as a team. Thats why every batsmen contributed from 15 -25 runs and made Bangladesh to cross 200 runs. Matt Henry once again bowled well and collapsed bangladesh. The tigers lost all their wickets and scored 244 runs at last over of the innings. Henry grabs 4 wickets for 47 runs and Boult grabbed 2 wickets.
The Black caps started the chase with Guptil and Munro. Both scored decent figure and went pavilion for 25 and 24 runs respectively. For third wicket Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor played beautifully. They know still many balls are there if rotate singles they can win the match. So they played slowly. Kane played some test kind of innings but its very important in this situation. They already having greater runrate more than 5.00, so no need to worry about that. Williamson gone for 40 runs from 72 balls. latham gone for duck. After that Ross Taylor played some beautiful innings with Grandhomme and went to pavilion when he was 82 runs with 9 boundaries. Grandhomme and Neesham supported New zealand. But Some how they struggled against Bangladesh. But Mitchell Santner smashed two boundaries and confirm the victory at 48th over. Except Fizz and Mortaza remaining Bangladesh bowlers did a good job.
Man of the Match: Ross Taylor
With this win New Zealand won both games and moved to top of the table. Shakib Al Hasan played his 200th ODI match against New Zealand. He became the third Bangladesh player in achieving this feet. Skipper Mashrafe Mortaza and Mushfiqur Rahim were the other two who already played more than 200 ODI matches for Bangladesh.
