Marcus Labuschange created a new history in World Test Series

Second test of the Ashes tournament ends up with a tie because of rain. This result may not gave happiness to England cricketers and fans. But Australians will be happy after seeing this result. They saved the match almost from the edge of defeat. Yes, the inclusion of Jofra Archer in second test made a huge impact in this series. In first innings itself he put a bouncers and made Steve Smith to take rest for the remaining days. Marcus Labuschange came as replacement for Smith in second innings for Australia.  First day of the match washed out completely due to rain and play starts from the second day.

Steve Smith, a lone fighter for Aussie in the ongoing Ashes scored two centuries in last match helped Australia to beat England at Edgbaston. He continued the same form in second test match too. Australia started their first innings after England's 258 for 10 at first innings. Since Warner and Bancroft failed to made their impact at opening, its again Smith's responsibility to carry the team on his shoulders. But a bouncer from Archer gave a blow on his neck. Smith took some rest and back to crease. But this time he cant able to convert his wonderful innings into century. Smith falls for 92 runs with a short of 8 runs to complete his hat trick centuries in Ashes innings.  And Australians finishes off their first innings with 250 runs, 8 runs behind England first innings score.

England declared with a score of 258/5 after the wonderful century from Ben Stokes (115 runs). England set a target of 267 runs for the visitors. Absence of Smith made a major blow in Australian batting lineup. The spare player Marcus Labuschange and Travis head sustained for few overs and saved Aussie from the defeat. Labuschange, who came as replacement for Smith played some beautiful knock and justified his selection. He scored his maiden half century 59 runs from 100 balls. Not only the half century, he created one more record also in this match.

As per the new rules of ICC for the ongoing World Test Championship, if a player got injured at the middle of match. The players who came as replacement can able to bat as well as bowl, previously its not like this players who came as replacement should do fielding only cant able to either bat or bowl. Marcus Labuschange became the first player in test cricket, who came as per this rules and scored half century too.

Man of the match:  Jofra Archer took 5 wickets in both innings was awarded as MOM.
