NO Its Rain, DL method and ofcourse Semifinals
In World cups all other teams considering opponent team as their rivals. For Example Indian Vs Pakistan, Australia Vs England like that. But South Africa as many rivalry like Rain, Duckworth Lewis method and Semifinals. Every time more than other teams the proteas were afraid of the above factors. Atleast any one will spoil their game. Sometimes all three may come together. As like other world cup this year also they are going to play as one of the strongest team in the wc 2019 under the captaincy of Faf Du Plesis. Lets see how their team proportion is and what would be the best playing XI. Actually we should not analyse this for SA. Rather than we could analyse weather report for them. But being a formality in article we are doing this.
The Top Order:
Before Kohli, Hashim Amla is the guy who broke fastest record in scoring 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 numbers in One day matches. Except him no one can be the better option for South Africa to play at no 1. Amla having a record of scoring 7910 runs from 174 matches with an average of 49.74. 27 centuries and 37 fifties also in his list. May be he is not in peak form recent times. But this kind of experience players only will shine at big tournaments like world cup. Now th question is who is going to open with Amla??? Young Aiden Markaram or Van der Dussen???
Both may be good batsmen but not having much experience in playing tournaments. Markaram may have chance to open. But our pick is it should be their wicket keeper batsman Quinton De cock. He is also young just 26 years old. But played 106 one day matches with in these years. Quinton having an average of 45 and his highest score is 178 in ODI. More than that Decock is a left hand batsman. Teams always prefer right and left combo for opening. So it should be Amla and Decock to open innings.
Who else at Number 3, the proteas skipper, power hitter, best fielder, cool captain and innings builder Faf Du Plesis. Faf is one among the few captains around world who can manage both his batting and team too. After many years we are witnessing a batting captain like him previously cricket having Ricky Ponting for Aussie. Now its Faf for South Africa. He average is 46plus in One day international. His highest is 185 runs. Faf should come at No 3. Because this position need a player to score runs as well to build innings.
No 4, South African veteran and a surprise pick in world cup JP Duminy. More than his experience in cricket SA cricket board selected him for a perfect reason. That is a key part time bowler who can broke opponent's partnership. Sometimes Sehwag and Sachin bowl few overs to break partnership, ofcourse they done many times. Like that, these type of players atleast one should be there in world cup for a team. His batting also helps SA to take care of middle overs.
All-Rounders:
Once South Africa had many all rounders in their team. Now it is the weakest dept for SA in this WC. One hitter always should be there at No 5 and here it is David Miller. May be his form not good in this ongoing IPL 2019. But some of the players were always unpredictable. No one knows when they will erupt.Once they its very difficult to control them. Miller is like that kind of player. England condition helps for fast bowlers so all teams will have fast bowler with least spinners. Miller will enjoy in playing Fast bowling. So he should be there at middle.
No 6 is some what safest place in South African team. So its better to have two less experienced players Markaram or Van der Dussen in that place. But first option is Van der Dussen, this batsman also a leg breaker who will help while opponents having lot of right hand players as like India. If Faf decided to promote any one of them at opening. The order still continue like Amla at 3, Faf at 4 and go on.
No7 is always a position for all rounders. If its a fast bowling all rounder that will be too good. But SA not having Chris Morris in squad. This will be the major blow for South Africa. But they have a replacement in that place Andile Phehlukwayo. He is a left hander with medium pace bowler . He scored more than 50 wickets from 43 matches as well as maintaining his batting average as 32. Other option is fast bowler with average batting skill Pretorius. He may use in few matches at 7. If Phehlukwayo take cares 6th position.
Bowlers:
Eight position, Tabraiz Shamsi not played many matches, not batted many balls. Still he will be the trumph card for SA at crucial time. Because no know doesnt know his full spin potential. He may pick many wickets.
Here comes another strong part of South Africa the speeds. Morne Morkel retirement makes a space in bowling department. But they filled it with a bowler, who is the current top bowler in the world Kagiso Rabada. He took 106 wickets from 66 matches with an average of 26. Along with him Steyn and Ngidi is there to take care of bowling unit. Their only problem is Steyn's injury.If anything happen to him. Pretorius will became a back up for steyn.

Schedule:
First match itself South Africa going to play against the strongest England at London and their last match against defending champions Aussie. Proteas will be the one who will definitely reach Semifinals. And a million dollar question is whether Faf and his team will cross semi atleast this time. Because its not only the dream of one generation. Its the dream of 3 decades in the eyes in South African fans as well as cricketers. Hope Luck wont play with them this time. ALL THE BEST FAF & Team.
