Once it was called as East Pakistan and now they were called as Bangladesh. Once in world cricket they were trolled brutally as minnows. Now they were consider as a challenging team for the top teams. A small country from Asia shows a tremendous growth in their last decade of cricket. We can easily differentiate bangla cricket with a small time line before 2007 and after 2007. May be their world cup records were not so good. But once they appeared in super eight stage and last year they appeared in Quarter finals. The only problem is they have talented players with less experience which makes them to take decision in crucial time.

World Cup Journey of Nagins:

1975 - Not Eligible (not an ICC member)
1979 - Not Qualified
1983 - Not Qualified
1987 - Not Qualified
1992 - Not Qualified
1996 - Not Qualified
1999 - Group Stage
2003 - Group Stage
2007 - Super Eight
2011 - Group Stage
2015 - Quarter Finals

Bangladesh was not a member of International Cricket Council when the first World Cup held at England. Then they played their first International ODI in 1979 only. But for the next 20 years they did not make any presence in world cup. Even though 1987 and 1996 world cup held in Asia. They made their first appearance in 1999 world cup only. In 2000 only they played their first test match and entered in the list of test playing nations. Till 2007 they were consider as a minnows if  any team wants to keep their ICC ranking they will arrange a series to this kind of small teams. But in 2007 world cup Bangladesh made a strong entry by winning team India with strong lineup. Because of that match India cant able to qualify super eight and Bangladesh were in super eight. This loss of India at west indies reacts much more in India too. Fans used to fire their stars house and their photos. But in 2011 world cup Sehwag smashed Bangladesh in the first match itself with his 175 runs at Dhaka. Then Bangladesh enter in 2015 world cup with full potential. They beat Afghanistan, Scotland and England at group stage and enters quarter final. But again they faced India there. This time they gave a strong challenge to India and finally lost that match. Their immature fans claims the no ball issue bowled for Rohit. Again this year they are going England with lot of dreams. Its too hard for them because they not going to play any match within groups. Its a round robin they has to play against all the top teams. Even Afghans looks stronger as like Bangladesh.

Nagin's XI for World cup 2019:

After seeing the above squad of Bangladesh. We were sure this will be the best squad for Bangladesh in world cups. Balanced squad in batting and bowling. In that they have 7 proper batsmen, 4 good all rounders and 4 bowlers in the squad. Mashrafe Mortaza playing in his last world cup as a captain of Bangladesh. In recent times Bangladesh achieved more than other top teams like Srilanka, West Indies and Pakistan. After 2010 five Asia cup tournament happened and Bangladesh played three finals in that. May be they lost all matches but we should appreciate their growth in world cricket. In next post we will discuss about their world cup squad and their best XI for playing at England condition.
