Match 39: RCB Vs CSK Post Analysis

Clash of Captains

Last match of this weekend, a clash between captain of India with Ex captain of India at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Both world class players already faced in the first match of this season at Chepauk. because of the Chepauk slow pitch RCB scored only 70 runs and CSK chased it at 18th over only. Today Royal Challengers back to their form with Kohli, AB devilliers and Steyn. But they heard a sad news for them, that is Super Kings captain return to squad after a rest at previous match. Bengaluru fans expecting RCB to win this match because Kohli and ABd was in good form. At the same time Super Kings need one more win to continue as table toppers. They have to back in their winning line after a last match defeat. Lets see what happened at the end.

Super Kings won the toss and decided to chase. RCB skipper Virat Kohli opened innings along with keeper Parthiv. Kohli failed to keep the last match momentum in this match. He gone for 9 runs at Chahar's over. Then Pathiv and Devilliers played for sometime. But Devilliers was taken at long by Duplesis when he was 25 runs. Akshadeep Nath and parthiv built one more partnership. But this was broke by Jaddu. Akshadeep gone for 24 runs. Parthiv scored his half century and walked into pavilion 53 runs from 37 balls. Stoinis didnt touch good balls at the same time he punished the balls bowled at bad line and length. But Tahir removed him with the help of stunning catch from Duplesis and Dhruv Shorey. Moen Ali scored some boundaries at death over helped RCB to cross 150 runs. Finally RCB finished with 161 runs.

One more worst chasing start from Chennai Super Kings. Steyn bowled the exceptional first over. Watson taken at slip in 5th ball of 1st over from Steyn. Its a typical test bowling. In next ball, Steyn bowled an unplayable yorker to Raina and bowled him. Raina gone for golden duck. Its is one of the best yorker in IPL history. Raina expected a bouncer but steyn exactly picked the gap between his leg and bat, and delivered yorker in perfect length with speed. Sometimes Umesh bowl well and other time will bowl worst.Yesterday he bowled brilliant first 2 overs. Umesh picked Faf du plesis and Kedhar Jadhav with same ball and same shot. CSK were 32 runs with the loss of 4 wickets at the end of powerplay. Dhoni and Rayudu build innings. But rayudu gone for 29 runs when score was 83 at 13.1 over. One end wickets were falling but dhoni playing like putting an anchor. In last 3 overs CSK need 49 runs to win. They scored 13 runs from 18th over and 10 runs from 19th over. Its critical situation for CSK they need 26 runs from 6 balls. Umesh bowled last over of the match. Dhoni scored 4 in 1st ball, 2 in 2nd ball, 3 sixes in next 3 balls. So 24 runs came in 5 balls. Among that one six went 111 meters distance which is the longest one in IPL 2019. Last ball they need 2 runs to win. CSK expecting 1more no ball from Umesh. But Umesh bowled off side dhoni cant able to pick that. He run for bye. But Parthiv run out Shradul thakur at striker end. And RCB won the nail biting match by 1 run.

After 2014 RCB registered a win against CSK. Dhoni remains not out with 84 runs from 48 balls with 5 fours and 7 sixes. In yesterday match Dhoni crossed 4000 runs in his IPL career, registered his best score in IPL, crossed 200 sixes in IPL. He is the one standing behind the sixer king Gayle. Super kings one more time lost watson and raina in power play itself. Even Jadhav was not in form. Rayudu also not in good touch. They were managing with Faf and Dhoni. Atleast from next match these people should realize their importance in team. Otherwise Dhoni should replace Murali Vijay in the place of Watson and try Dhruv Shorey in the place of Jadhav, Rayudu or Raina. We should not forget Shradhul Thakur at this moment. Dont know why Dhoni picking him ahead of Mohit Sharma.
