ICC World Cup 2019 Match 5 - Bangladesh Vs South Africa, Mahmadullah and Mehidy makes a difference

ICC World Cup 2019

Match 5 - Bangladesh Vs South Africa

Mahmadullah and Mehidy makes a difference

First four matches of 2019 world cup went one sided. No nail biting end overs, no increase in heart beat nothing happened. Both Pakistan and Sri lanka, Asian biggies scored low and went all out. They not even crossed 150 runs. But today one small asian country changed that, they are small in term of area only but they are big team with their cricket skill. It was the fifth match of ICC WC 2019, where the South Africans taking Bangladesh at Oval. Protea were lost their first game against England. Where Bangladesh gonna play their first match in this world cup. South Africa need a victory in this match if not they may loss chances of getting qualified to semi's. Still they need to face India, Australia, New Zealand and West Indies. On the other side Bangladesh became stronger when compared to previous world cups. Usually they will enter world cup tournaments atleast for a win. But this time they came to win the trophy.

After the toss Bangladesh bat first with Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar. Still Steyn didnt recover from injury so he didnt play in this match too. Chris Morris replaced Pretorius and Miller came for injured Hashim Amla. Bangla hope Tamim went as first wicket for 16 runs. Experienced Shakib Al Hasan put hand together with Sarkar and increased their score. Sarkar gone as second wicket when the team score was 42 runs. Both experienced Shakib and Mushfiqur Rahim played brilliantly and scored half century. Shakib gone for 75 runs and Rahim gone for 78 runs. At this time Bangladesh predicted score was about 290 runs. But at the end they scored 330 runs, that too scored nearly 80 runs at last 7 overs. Just because of Mahmadullah, he played a typhoon and scored 46 runs from 33 balls with 3 boundaries and a six. Mosaddek Hossain supported him well and scored 26 runs. South Africa's most expected Rabada and Ngidi didnt pick any wickets. Morris, Phelukwayo and Tahir took 2 each. This time Du Plesis have to realise the importance of bowlers, in both matches South Africa conceded more than 300 runs that too between 40-50 overs. Last time Ben Stokes and today its Mahmadullah.

South Africa started a steady chase with Quinton De cock and Aiden Markram. Both laid a beautiful foundation for the chase. But a mis understanding between batsmen results in run out. Quinton gone for 23 runs from a direct throw from Mushfiqur Rahim. This is the first turning point in this match. Markram gone for 45 runs from a superb ball from Shakib. Francois Du Plesis played a captains knock, he is the only batsman in current South African team showing his consistency for the past two years. He didnt face any struggle and keep on scoring. But part time bowler Mehidy Hasan made a twist here. He bowled Faf from a flat ball. Faf gone for 62 runs from 53 balls with 5 boundaries and a six. David Miller and Dussen continue the chase. But Miller gone from a trap ball bowled by Fizz. Miller gone for 38 runs. Dussen unwantedly tried for big shot and bowled for 41 runs. JP Duminy trying to save the team. But Phelukwayo caught by Shakib from a slow fulltoss by Saifuddin. Still Duminy was there and South Africa had some chances to win. But Fizz broke SA fans heart by taking Duminy  for 45 runs at 48th over first ball by an inside edge. Thats it, the match moved from protea hands. Rabada hit a six in last over and helped South Africa to cross 300 runs. At the end South Africa scored 309 runs from 50 overs. Bangladesh won the match by 21 runs. This is their second win against South Africa in world cups. Many of know this match became possible for Bangladesh just because of Mustafizur Rahaman. But both Shakib and Mehidy Hasan was the major reason for the pressure on protea at middle overs. Both conceded only 94 runs in 20 overs and took 2 main wickets Markram and Du Plesis. If not definitely they may lost the match.

Man of the Match: Shakib Al Hasan

Shakib Al hasan awarded as man of the match for his valuable 75 runs at no 3, a big wicket of SA Markram, and a stunning catch of Phelukwayo. May be shakib the man of match, but the credit goes to the entire team. The win possible only because of team work. Even Mortaza knows he conceded many runs at starting and middle, thats why dbeing a captain he didnt bowl any overs and gave the ball to Saifuddin and he took 2 wickets, Dussen and Phelukwayo. South Africa going to face India in their next match on Wednesday. Buu the main thing is Pakistan and Srilanka, be cautious Bangladesh is coming to beat you.
