List of top five players who scored maximum number of centuries less than 75 balls..... The record of power hitters..
Destructive batting are always delight to watch. Because they made crowd also to involve in the game by smashing boundaries and sixes. They will get unstoppable cheers from audience with their bat. More over they wont worry about the bowlers whether he is a swing specialist, a mystery spinner or a speedster. Those kind of batsmen focus only on the ball, they just want to smash it not afraid of losing wickets. T20 format cricket provide such a platform for those big hitters. Of course they are the undisputed king of short format games. Many destructive batsmen came in cricket history. But only few achieved more than others like Chris Gayle, Viv Richards, Andre Russell, Virendra Sehwag, Afridi, Gilchrist, Hayden, Maxwell, Abd, Miller, Brendon Mccullum, Corey anderson, Buttler, Bairstow and the list goes on.
In the post we are going to see the list of such destructive batsmen who scored maximum centuries less than 75 balls. I bet the list will be convincing one. Lets get into the list of power arms.
5. Shahid Afridi (Pakistan)
Shahid Afridi, one of the best all rounder in the world. He played many match winning matches for Pakistan team in both batting and bowling. Whenever we heard the name Afridi, obviously fans will get the memories of sixes. Yes, Boom Boom Afridi is sixer specialist. Fans loved the way he gets down to the track and send ball to the pavilion. Pakistan fans used to call him as LaLa. Shahid Afridi scored centuries 4 times less than 75 balls. And his fastest is, i think no one forgot that match a blistering 36 balls century against their rivals team India.
4. Sanath Jayasurya (Sri Lanka)
Sanath Jayasurya, the man who took class for entire cricket world "how to deal batting powerplay in ODI matches". Sanath and Kaluwitharana Duo is the first opening partnership in ODI introduced the art of scoring 100 runs within first 15 overs. More than a left hand attacking batsman, Jayasurya is a valuable spinner during middle overs and took more than 400 wickets in international matches. Jayasurya smashed centuries less than 75 balls 5 times in his career. In 1996 he scored half century in 17 balls and century in just 48 balls against Pakistan and both remains fastest by a Sri Lankan batsmen till today.
3. Virendra Sehwagh (India)
Most dangerous batsman of all time, Virendra Sehwag. He is not a guy like Chris Gayle who can hit continuous sixes or not a guy like Russel who can hit huge sixes. But bowlers used to afraid of him because this guy will hit boundary in first ball of the innings itself. Such a fearless batsman. If you still insist, just remember Sehwag smashed sixes in a test match against Pakistan from 94 to 100, 194 to 200 and 294 to 300. No one ever dare to do that. Because he never afraid for losing his wicket, he just want to smash the ball. Viru has scored centuries less than 75 balls 7 times in his career. His fastest century came against New Zealand in 60 balls that too in the Kiwi's bouncing pitch Hamilton. A Ton at Hamilton for Viru.
"There is nothing like spin bowling in cricket, because i'll hit the ball before it pitches" - Virendra Sehwag about Spin bowling.
2. Jos Buttler (England)
Jos Buttler, current sensational batsman for England. Buttler is a dangerous technical player scored many match winning knocks for England at middle order. Whenever Jos Buttler pairs with Bairstow opponent bowlers could not able to control the run rate of England. Buttler's test career is not that much successful as like ODI. He scored only 1 century in test matches. But Buttler scored 9 centuries in ODI. Totally he scored only 10 centuries in his career, among that 7 came with in 75 balls. As of now he equalled Sehwag's record. But he took 2nd place in this list because still many matches are there for him to play power hitting knocks. His fastest century came against Pakistan in 46 balls.
1. AB De Villiers (South Africa)
This list wont gets fulfilled without this guy. AB De Villiers is the second south african player loved by many fans from other countries next to Jhonty Rhodes. Without any argument everyone will accept ABD is the most valuable player produced by South Africa next to Jacque Kallis. AB will play many innovative shots and can hit balls anywhere in the stadium. Thats why people call him as Mr.360. As of now De villiers scored 47 centuries, out of that 9 came from less than 75 balls.
Do you need to explain anything about his fastest century??????????
AB De Villiers holds the world record of fastest 50, 100 and 150 in One day Internationals. 50 from 16 balls, 100 from 31 balls and 150 from 64 balls in the same match against Windies in 2015 ICC World Cup.
This list may be disappoinment for few people who expect Chris Gayle, Brendon Mccullum, Russell, Gilly, Rohit in this list. But the fact is the above people scored centuries less than 75 balls many times than others. In future the list may change. Because records are always created to broke.
