Part 9 - Starting of Bowler's Era

Once there was only a domination of batsmen in world cricket. Most of the teams will prefer batting first if they win toss. If team batsmen shines that team will won the match otherwise they will lose. Bowler's condition is like that in world cricket. They always used to bowl more than 6 balls in over. Its very rare to see a bowler who can makes the batsman afraid to face his ball. Few of them like Walsh, Ambrose, Kapil dev etc., Like this we can count them easily. They used to bowl many extras. Except one team their batting is not always constant. But for each and every retirement of their best bowler they had a backup. Not only in bowling they were dangerous at swinging the ball and having best spin bowlers too. We used to call them as Pakistani's. They had world best bowlers like Imran Khan, Saqlain mushtaq, Wasim Akram, Waqar yunus, Shoaib Akthar, Saeed Ajmal, Umar gul, Amir and the list goes on. Not only in bowling some times they produced world class batsmen too like Syed Anwar, Inzamam Ul Haq, Younis khan, Mohammed Yusuf aka Younis Youhana, Shahid Afridi list continues.
No one can match Wasim Akram's left arm swing ball, No one can match the speed of Akthar, No one can bowl brilliant as like Imran Khan, No one can score like Anwar and No one there to hit sixes like Afridi. Thats the team pakistan for you. But their only problem is lack of coordination all the time. They have some inconvenience with their cricket board also. Anyway thats not our issue lets go for their world cup journey.

Pakistan cricket history in world cup was started right from the first world cup. That time only four teams were always dominating and Pakistan was among the one. Other three are Australia, West India, England and sometimes New Zealand. In 1975 they came with league round. But after that they make three consecutive semifinals from 1979 to 1987. Year 1992 unforgettable moment for all Pakistani's. Pakistan became the champions of world in 1992 at Australia. They beat England at finals and became world champions under the leadership of great bowler Imran Khan. Then they satisfied with quarter finals at 1996 world cup. Again they played world cup final at England. This time against Australia, but at that time australia were in peak form even pakistan also. But no other teams didnt give much challenge to that aussie team but pak did it. In 2003 they were in good proportion but went with league round.
As like India, 2007 is the worst tournament for even Pakistan too. They also finished their dream in league round itself. Fans worst behaviour hurt the players alot. In 2011 they came back with a bang and reached semifinals. But they lost against their neighbour India. In 2015 many of their key players retired and Pakistan finished at league round itself. We can see a common point in their appearance. Pakistan's strength is bowling attack wherever the pitch support for bowling they performed at those tournaments. Like 1979 & 1983 held at England, 1992 held at Australia, again 1999 at England. England pitch always support for them. But the team having less experience.
Squad for World Cup 2019:
This time they were going to play under the captaincy of their wicket keeper Sarfarz Ahmed. They have many young players in the list. Having two well experienced cricketer in squad to guide those young talents. Shoaib Malik and Mohammed Hafeez has lot of experience at England pitch. It will help for Pakistan in this world cup. We should not leave easily this guys. They were consider one of the team who can lift the cup. Remember these young lions only beat India at last Champions Trophy in the same England pitch.
Not only on bowling they also having good batsman. Like Fakhar Zaman, first Pakistani who hit double century in ODI's. Once they had batsman like Syed Anwar, he scored highest individual in ODI's 194 runs against India. Till 2010 no one didnt broke that record. Later it was broken by cricket god Sachin Tendulkar and became first man in the planet scored a ODI double century. Even Shahid Afridi, the man of six scored the fastest ever ODI century from 37 balls against that time world champion Srilanka in 1996. It took almost 18 years to break the record.
