Unbeaten India showed exit way for Windies
After 1983 world cup defeat at finals, West Indies have never made their appearance in world cup finals. Their best is semi final appearance at 1996 world cup. This year they enter world cup after playing the qualifier match. A combination of young and experienced player gave some hope to Windies fans. Even Windies started the tournament by crushing Pakistan. After that match they faced continuous defeat, even they lost against Bangladesh. They faced India today in a must win game of this tournament. But Windies lost this match and now joined with South Africa and Afghanistan who are already out of the tournament.
Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first. Windies bowlers did a wonderful job by restricting Indian batsmen to 268/7 from 50 overs. Captain Kohli scored his fourth consecutive half century in this tournament (72 runs) and MS Dhoni remains not out with 56 runs from 61 balls. Hardik Pandya (46 runs from 38 balls) scored few boundaries at death overs helped India to cross 250 runs. Vijay Shankar and Kedhar Jadhav wasted the opportunity given by Kohli. Its better Kohli replace this guys with Dinesh and Jadeja. Rahul (48 runs) played some responsible innings after the loss of Rohit for 18 runs. Windies Roach picked 3 wickets, he completed his 10 over before 35th over of 1st innings. Holder and Cottrell shared 2 wickets each.
Chris Gayle and Sunil Ambris started to chase the reachable target. Last match Hat-trick hero Shami didnt let them to create a good platform for chase. Gayle lost his wicket to Shami for 6 runs. Sunil Ambris (31 runs) and Hetmyer (28runs) scored some decent figures. India's pace and spin attack completely trashed windies. They went all out before the end of 35th over. Windies scored only 143 runs. Out of that 18runs came as extras. Bumrah took 2 wickets and bowled too economically (1.50). Chahal took 2 wickets. Mohammed Shami once again shines and took 4 wickets for 16 runs from 6.2 overs. No more worries for Indian captain about fast bowling attack. They have Bumrah, Bhuvi and Shami with full form.

Now India is the only unbeatable team in this world cup till this match. They almost confirmed the semi final with 11 points. Still they left with 3 matches against England, Bangladesh and Srilanka. Atleast one win is enough to finish group stage at top 2. Sad thing the cricket entertainers, our beloved Windies were mathematically out of the tournament. They have only 3 points from 7 matches. Still two left, but if they win also they finish with only 7 points. England who are at 4th place now already having 8 points. So its time for Windies to pack up everything. Hope the carribean sharks will bounce back in next season with a bang.
