England put an end to their losing streak against NZ and confirmed semi final spot.....

                              England, the land were cricket was born gave many remarkable moments in the history of cricket. They hosted cricket word cup five times including 2019 WC. But never won a single trophy till now. Every time they are hyping more and ends up with great disappointments. Last time they played world cup finals as well as semi finals 27 years before in 1992 world cup. This time they started tournament as No1 ODI side now skipped to second spot. Even though they start well now they not yet confirmed their semi final spot till today. England last match against New Zealand became a must win game for them. If win they can comfortably sits at 3rd position, otherwise they have to wait for Pakistan vs Bangladesh match. Literally their semi final chance in the hands of Bangladesh.

                                       Eoin Morgan, skipper of England won the toss and opted to bat first at Chester le. While chosing bat itself Morgan claimed that wicket looking good but it will turn at the middle of match and thats why they have opted bat. Whatever he told its true, the pitch turned completely at the middle of first innings itself. England batsmen struggled after that and lost wickets too. But Johnny Bairstow and Jason Roy done their job before the pitch turns hard. Once again they gave a steady start of 123 runs from 18 overs for the first wicket. Jason Roy lost his wicket after another half century in this world cup with 60 runs from 61 balls. As like Joe Root, Johnny Bairstow scored second century in this world cup, that too came in consecutive match. Bairstow gone as third wicket for 106 runs from 99 balls with 15 boundaries and 1 six just after the lose of Joe Root for 24 runs. Jos Buttler, Stokes and Woakes didnt score well but wasted balls at middle over. Particularly Stokes scored only 11 runs from 27 balls. Once again England failed to score between 30-40 overs which restricts them from crossing predicted 350+ runs. Captain Eoin Morgan sensible knock of 42 from 40 balls helped England to cross 300 runs. Rashid and Plunkett finish England innings with 305 runs for the lose of 8 wickets. Jimmy Neesham bowled well and took 2 wickets with 4.10 as economy from 10 overs. Boult and Henry finished with decent figures 2 wickets each with economy less than 5.70 

                                  Black caps started the chase with Nichollas and Guptil. As expected the worst form of openers continue in this match too. Nichollas gone for golden duck and Guptil went pavilion with 8 runs. As usual Kane Willaiamson and Ross Taylor took pressure on their shoulders and trying to maintain New Zealand net run rate. The pitch became too difficult for batting when compared to first innings. So both didnt play for win and planned to maintain run rate at positive. Because Pakistan were at -0.7 runrate. If New Zealand went less than zero then it leads to their elimination from the tournament. Both managed till 15th over but lost Kane wicket by run out. Taylor lost his wicket in the same way as their captain lost,its another run out. Two important wickets came in run out. Tom Latham played decent knock and scored half century 52 runs were other players just supported him and took game till 45th over. New Zealand planned to reach 200 runs but they managed to score only 186 runs. Mark Wood took 3 wickets for England. Remaining bowlers except Joe Root took 1 wicket each.      

                       

                         

Man of the Match: Johnny Bairstow (106 runs from 99 balls with 15 boundaries and 1 six)

                                    Till now 306 balls crossed boundary line without pitching. But today only one six made by both team and it was hit by Johnny Bairstow. With this win England confirmed semi final spot with 3rd place. Most probably they will play against India in semi final. Since they have already beat India in league stage England can face them with lot of confidence. But its sad news for Indian fans, particularly India going to wear the shitty Orange shade dress in semi final which is not liked by many fans. New Zealand finished league with 11 points and 0.175 as net run rate. They almost confirmed their semi final berth against Australia. 

                               Bairstow and Roy put an end to Pakistan's semi final dream. Pakistan having a net run rate of -0.792 now. If they want to qualify semi finals ahead of New Zealand. Pakistan have to beat Bangladesh by a margin of 316 runs. Mathematically if Pakistan score 400 runs, they should restrict Bangladesh less than 84 runs. Definitely its an unreachable margin for Pakistan that too against Bangladesh. Unofficially Pakistan were out of tournament now. Will wait till friday just for who is going to grab the 5th place in this world cup.
